McLean Golden

 

Hi! My name is McLean Golden and I am a digital creative stylist and journalist.

 

Through creative direction, writing, research, and marketing strategies, I help style many elements of brands. This is done through services such as personal and brand styling, copywriting, social media marketing, and content creation. My experience has taught me how to quickly understand brands' and customers' image aspirations and translate that into relevant selections and content.

 

I graduated from College of Charleston in 2021 where I studied communication, music, and political science. I spent most of my college years writing, reporting, and creating social content for MyCougarNews. I also enjoyed holding various press-related leadership roles within Kappa Delta and co-founded the South Carolina Politics Club.

I have spent the past year pursuing my master's degree in journalism from New York University and recently graduated in December 2022.

While at New York University, I have been able to tie my passion for fashion into my works by reporting on trends and challenges within the industry. For example, I highlighted the environmental impacts of fast fashion, the rise of inauthentic handbags through Tik Tok's promotion of DHGate, and the unique urban planning that went into the storefront opening of LoveShackFancy in Miami. 

 

Additionally, I had the opportunity to help build a successful travel concierge service based out of my hometown in Charleston, South Carolina. While I was at On Call Concierge, I grew social platforms and relaunched their weekly blog posts. The blogs gave readers a local insight into the best of what Charleston has to offer. The highlight of my time with the company was when an advertisement my team and I collaborated on appeared in National Geographic Traveller's best of the world 2023 edition.

In December 2022, I launched my own blog and hope to share my personal travels and experiences with the world. In 2022 alone, life has taken me all the way from Kauai, Hawaii, to Stockholm, Sweden, and many more in between!
